Grips double and single
Middle The middle grip is where either both or one of your hands are 1 fist from the middle of the staff. Third The thirds grip is where the hands are placed on the staff which will divide it into 3rds. Ideally the hands will be about shoulder length apart at least. Quarter One hand is palm in and one forearm length from the bottom and the other hand is holding the middle of the staff with opposing palm usually Long Usually when there is only a fist or slightly more distance from the edge of the staff |

1st staff trick
- Start with one hand space in the middle of the staff with both hands on either side. Palms down. This is known as the 'Open' position. - Let go of one hand (1st) and twist the staff around till your other hand (2nd) is palm up - The hand that let go (1st) now goes under your other arm and grabs the staff palm up. This is known as the 'Closed' position. - Let go of the 2nd hand & the 1st twists till it's palm down. 1st grabs & you are now in Open position again. Repeat |

Snake level 2
2nd snake uses the lowest of stances. - Back foot is turned away from the body, knee is bent as you crouch down and most of the weight is held on it - Front foot is turned in slightly and the toes are in line with the heel of the back leg. The leg is straight but retains a slight bend for movement - Both feet stay flat - The body should be held in between the knees with back straight and shoulders set -Fingers and arms keep the same position as level 1 |

3rd staff trick
Hands start face down in the thirds grip. Start with one leg forward. - Cross the arms at your side and tuck the leading hand underneath your right armpit - Turn the shoulders to the left and as you do circle the staff down and around to your left - Open the arms when you're at your side and repeat to return to other side. - Don't sway the hips and keep upright |

4th staff trick
This begins like 3rd staff trick and uses a 360 spin. This time when you cross your arms step forward so that your feet are parallel and facing to the side - Open the arms the Close them following the same arc - While the arms are Closed the staff points to the ground and stays there as you step behind with your 1st leading leg and you spin around to face the other way. - Open the arms and move the front foot into a forward position and start again. To go one side then another just add a step between each conclusion of the 360 spin and you will go the other way. |

5th staff trick
Hold the staff to your side in a single Middle grip with it going behind your back. - Spin the staff up and directly over your head and twist the palm to face behind - Reach up and grab with the other hand as though doing 1st staff trick and grab. Let go with your 1st hand. - Spin and move the staff down to your other side. While you do bring your 1st hand directly down to the pit of the same side shoulder and palm forward to complete the movement - Body held like level 1 snake |

6th staff trick
This is like 5th except there is a 180 degree turn in the middle. Start with one leg forward, grip like 5th and pointing down the back leg. - Step forward with your back leg to feet parallel while you bring the staff above your head. - Change hands - As you bring the staff down step around behind you with what was your leading leg into a forward stance as the staff comes down and you palm. - Body held like level 1 snake Repeat |

7th staff trick
This is a 5th with a 360 degree turn. Start like 6th but this time when you reach the "Change hands" step you are going to step with the once leading leg and then step again with the other leg whilst completing the staff pull down and spin. - This time you have to get the change over, palm and staff move timed with the extra stepping. - Body held like level 1 snake |
